Brownie Pops

One minute you’re having a discussion with your son in the car (for some reason we seem to talk more in the car) and the next minute life hits you like a car going 40 miles an hour right into a brick wall.   In my case life was a car and I’m wondering just how many “life experiences” I will have to endure before I say goodbye to this world.  And then the beauty arrives.  My son walked away from the crash and minutes later was taking pictures of the accident with his Iphone.  This could’ve been a whole different scenario.  But every once in a while it appears.

Those little words that make you stop the chaos in your life to just breathe. Breathe and believe.  The words:  “Mom, trust me I’ve learned from this accident how suddenly in a few seconds everything can change.”    So many questions, so little answers.  I’ve been saying that to myself a lot lately.  I feel as if I’m sitting in a theatre watching a movie and the characters are eerily familiar and as I’m engrossed in the plot of the story, I suddenly realize it’s my story, my life I’m watching.   Having realized that I’m sitting in a seat rather than performing up there on the big screen in my life, a profound moment is born.  I witness first hand that I am not in control, I’m merely a spectator watching my reaction and those around me to the author’s creativity in my little world I call my life.  And here’s the beauty:  Having discovered this, I sat back, relaxed, and shoved a handful of popcorn in my mouth.  Let the entertainment commence.  It is a strange philosophical phenomenon.  One in which, I am sure I am not the only one to question.  Just why do things happen?  After five days in bed, I still do not have any answer and I don’t know what happened but I woke up wanting to cook.

Okay, that’s really not news but I’m not talking just cook one meal.  I made several today.  And I baked.  But not just normal bake–I creative baked.   It was simple too.  I came across these rubber pans that pops out little brownie nuggets like ice cubes.  Ask me how I know this.  Well, I’ll tell you.  The first few disintegrated when I tried to get them out which prompted a marvel idea–how about reading the instructions, Einstein.  Anyway, for a fun project with your kids, this is a cute little idea.  It was 10-minutes in prep time and cute, cute, cute!
