There is nothing fancy about this recipe. And yet, that is where the genius abounds. The tomato flavor seems to soothe my senses. We make this a little soupy and not so thick. This recipe is not overly spiced which makes this a great comfort food that I grew up with. The smells remind me of home.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic chopped
- 1 small green pepper chopped
- 1 quart canned tomatoes I can my own but a 28 oz. can will do
- 1/2 lb. macaroni
- 1 T. red pepper flakes
- fresh grated parmesan
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare macaroni according to box. Brown the ground beef with the onion, garlic, and green pepper. Salt and pepper to taste. Drain the meat mixture just a little. Add the tomatoes and bring to boil. Add the macaroni and let stand to allow the flavors to combine. Top with parmesan cheese.
