And now you have time for lasagna--well, er, the stew version anyway. But I promise the flavors are there and the time involved is …
Ingredients
- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 lb. curly egg noodles
- fresh basil leaves for garnish
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. sugar
Instructions
- In a small sauce cook the noodles according to package.
- In a large sauce pan while that's cooking brown the hamburger, onions, garlic, and oregano. Add the crushed tomatoes, add the sugar. Allow to heat through. Drain the noodles and add to the tomato mixture. Add some of the pasta liquid if the tomato mixture is too thick for you. I liked mine a little soupy but stew is good too. Place this mix in individual heat resistant bowls--ramekins.
- Top with a spoonful of cottage cheese, parmesan cheese and completely cover with mozzarella cheese. Place under the broiler for a few minutes to melt the cheese and brown it. Serve with a tossed salad.

It says in instructions to add the sugar, but no sugar listed in ingredients? How much sugar?
Also no oregano listed in ingredients, but instructions say to add…so how much?
it says 1 tsp. sugar in the ingredients
